Emergency Services

The majority of the emergency services on the island is operated by volunteers. There are six fire brigades around Flinders Island and one on Cape Barren Island. These are all manned by volunteers that are alerted to fires through a beeper system.

Along with the Fire Service there a Volunteer Ambulance Officers and SES (State Emergency Service), the groups have regular training and are well equipped for most emergencies.

Police

There are two Police stations on the island, Lady Barron and Whitemark. To contact (not an emergency) the Police please phone 03 6359 2000.
