Contractor Induction Process
Welcome to the Flinders Council Online Contractor Induction Process.
Our standardised induction process is designed for contractors who are engaged to perform work on behalf of Flinders Council or on any site controlled by Flinders Council and advises Contractors of their expected safety requirements and standards when performing works for Flinders Council.
All contractors, their employees and any sub-contractors or suppliers who may be engaged to perform works or deliver services within any worksite controlled by, or on behalf of Flinders Council are required to successfully complete the Online Contractor Induction Process. Being online, this induction can be completed using a standard Web Browser and takes approximately 15-20 minutes.
There is no cost to do the induction and your induction will be valid for 2 years.
Please arrange for ALL relevant staff/workers to complete the induction course:
- Prior to their next visit (or)
- Contact your Council contact person to arrange a suitable time frame
At the end of the induction you will be able to print a Certificate of Completion which must be signed and returned to:
Attn: Corporate Services Coordinator
PO Box 40
Whitemark TAS 7255
Email is accepted to firstname.lastname@example.org
You will also be required to supply all relevant current copies of insurances, including public liability, workers compensation (where you employ a person coming on to site) and professional indemnity. Copies of any relevant trade’s certificates or high risk licences may also be required.
All Certificates of Completion are uniquely numbered. The number is registered on Council’s Contractor Register. You may be asked to provide evidence of your induction during any works/projects so print a copy and keep with you whilst working on any Council worksite.
This is a general induction and does not attempt to provide all the information. It is recommended that you visit Tasmanian Legislation Online – www.thelaw.tas.gov.au or Worksafe Tasmania – www.worksafe.tas.gov.au
A Flinders Council site specific induction may still be required for the particular jobs/projects.
