Draft Weed Management Strategy

Draft Weed Management Strategy image

The Draft Furneaux Islands Weed Management Strategy has been developed to guide weed management on the Furneaux Islands over the next 15 years.

Whilst feedback is welcome on any part of the document, the most relevant sections for community may be the prioritisation of the various weed species into management categories and the activities listed in the 5-year action table.

On Tuesday 6th & Wednesday 7th September, Eve Lazarus will be available to discuss the strategy and any other aspects of the Furneaux Weed Management Program you may be interested in.

Please contact community@flinders.tas.gov.au or call Sammi on 6359 5001 if you are interested in setting up a time to chat while Eve is on the Island.

Supported through funding from the Tasmanian Weeds Action Fund, a $5 million Tasmanian Government initiative funded until 2024.

The funds provided by the Tasmanian Government will be invested with landholders, land managers, and other organisations to tackle weeds that are impacting valuable agricultural and environmental assets.
