Coronavirus Update - Travel to the Furneaux islands

Coronavirus Update - Travel to the Furneaux islands image

The State Controller has removed the travel restrictions for the Furneaux Islands.

The restriction on mainland Tasmanian residents visiting King Island, Flinders Island and other islands in the Furneaux Group is lifted from 3pm Friday June 5.

This means that Tasmanian residents from anywhere in Tasmania, including island residents, can visit the islands for any reason and are not required to quarantine for a 14 day period on their arrival.

We encourage our community to please be mindful of social distancing and good hygiene practices whilst on and off island.

We also suggest you download the COVID-safe app if leaving the island to ensure any contact made with a person who may have contracted COVID-19 is traceable. This extra measure will assist in keeping our island communities safe.
