Under the  Dog Control Act 2000, all dogs in the Flinders Municipality must be registered. Dog owners are required to register a dog once it reaches six-months of age. Dogs coming from outside Tasmania must comply with Tasmania's hydatids regulations.

To register a dog in the Flinders Municipality:

  • Download and print out the Dog Registration form
  • Fill in the details
  • Send the completed form with your payment to: Flinders Council, P O Box 40, Whitemark TAS, 7255
  • A dog registration tag will be posted to you once the application and payment has been received.

Sterilised Dog $22 (July) $31 (after July)

Non-Sterilised Dog $37 (July) $52 (after July)

Working Dog $22 (July) $31 (after July)

Dangerous Dog $145 (July) $206 (after July)

Pop in to see our friendly cashier at 4 Davies St or call on 6359 5001 to make a payment. Your dog should be equipped with a black tag. If the tag is missing, you may buy a new one for $8
