The Flinders Council School Holiday Program is open to all young residents and visitors 6 (prep grade) to 25-years-of-age. 

Register for our annual program of activities and we will keep you informed of our holiday activities over the year.

Please note, some activities may provide or require transport, so check when you register. Please note some activities require participants to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.


Wed 4th January 2017: Boat Building Workshop at Emita Hall:  Free Event.  10am -2pm Come along, bring your imagination and create your boat for the big race at the Emita Sports on Saturday 7th Jan. This year we will have some new materials for the build! 

Surf School: Our ever popular Surf program will commence in early January and will be run as often as the weather and conditions allow. Please note you must be registered to participate so that you will receive sms notifications to let you know surf venues and times.

Wed 18th Jan - Friday 20th Jan 2017: Performing arts and comedy workshops with Sean Choolburra and Cheryl Wheatley. Times to be advised at a later date.

Council provides financial and staffing support for the Holiday Program, and receives valuable assistance from a number of local organisations including the Flinders Island Aboriginal Association, Flinders Island District High School, and Flinders Island Lions Club

To help improve the School Holiday Program every year, Council welcomes and encourages suggestions from its young community members. Please contact us if you have an idea or suggestion for future activities, or if you would like to contribute or volunteer.

The Council School Holiday program has a funding contribution from the Rural Primary Health Services Program funded in Tasmania by Primary Health Tasmania.
