The Australian Government is inviting people to attend a consultation being held on the independent review of the Tasmanian Freight Equalisation Scheme and Bass Strait Passenger Vehicle Equalisation Scheme.

Consultations will also be held in other areas across Tasmania.

The Review – undertaken by Mr David Parmeter and Dr Jenny Gordon – will examine ways to reduce administrative burden and enable more efficient shipping.

Your feedback will be critical to the Review’s outcomes: ensuring that the schemes remain fit-for-purpose, delivers for Tasmanians into the future, and supports fair and sustainable access to mainland markets. We would encourage you to attend to ensure your views are heard and to share details of the consultation with your networks.
