The Whitemark Waste Facility processes more than 1,000 tonnes of mixed waste each year, and construction is now commencing on a new enclosed recycling facility to significantly increase diversion from landfill.

The project will deliver a dedicated undercover drop-off area for cardboard, glass, and other recyclables, along with space for sorting, processing, and storing materials for reuse on island or transport to external recycling partners.

This purpose built infrastructure will improve safety, efficiency, and long term waste management outcomes for the community.
